Doctor responsibility throughout the plan

SMILE-FX® offers MARPE within doctor-led comprehensive orthodontics. Board-certified orthodontists see every patient, including follow-ups. The practice's digitally driven clear-aligner focus sits alongside full-service orthodontics and the separate custom-bracket option.

The general care capabilities below explain practical benefits such as understanding a digital plan, sharing information for review and having a route back to the team. Your clinician explains the arrangements relevant to an individual expansion plan; general aligner, fabrication or support options do not define a MARPE device or protocol.

Doctor-led care, from planning through follow-ups

At SMILE-FX®, board-certified orthodontists see every patient, including at follow-up visits. Clinical director Dr. Tracy Miao Liang leads a full-service Miramar practice with a digitally driven clear-aligner focus. Understand the proposed plan

AI-assisted precision planning supports your orthodontist's work. Before-and-after smile-preview simulations give you a view of proposed changes, so you can point to what you understand or want explained. A simulation illustrates the plan; it is not a promised result.

Low-dose 3D CBCT imaging supports clinical assessment, detection of findings and treatment planning when indicated. The information helps your orthodontist connect the findings with an explanation of the proposed approach.

Stay connected between visits

Smartphone and iPhone monitoring comes standard with braces and aligner plans. You can send progress information from home between visits for clinical review. Remote monitoring also helps flag issues such as broken brackets or aligners that are not tracking, with the clinical team evaluating what needs attention.

With 24/7 access to provider support, you have a contact route when a question or concern arises. Responses are handled through the clinical team's care arrangements, keeping access to support distinct from a promise of an instant reply.

Connect your plan with practical continuing care

SMILE-FX® makes in-house 3D-printed aligners and offers same-day aligner and retainer options. That connects doctor-led planning with a local fabrication route. Your prescribed appliance and individual arrangements determine which option is used.

For continuing care, SMILE-FX® can ship course-correction aligners to your home. Rescue aligner care provides a doctor-led route for people seeking help with a prior aligner course. Course corrections and Rescue arrangements are set individually alongside the clinical plan.

Custom 3D-printed bracket options are also part of the practice's range. Their off-site manufacturing is separate from local aligner and retainer fabrication, so the appliance and its production route stay clear in your discussion.

Care policies confirmed by SMILE-FX®: local fabrication and same-day options, individually arranged home course-correction shipments and Rescue care, and separately manufactured custom brackets. The links below provide service information and general patient resources.

Understand your options and included care

SMILE-FX® offers Invisalign and OrthoFX, including AirFlex, alongside night-time aligner options. The range gives you specific choices to discuss, while your orthodontist determines the system and wear instructions for your individual plan. Commercial systems and in-house appliances have their own production routes.

Fixed and removable retainers plus whitening are included at SMILE-FX®. These benefits belong in the full treatment conversation and written proposal, alongside the active appliance and continuing-care arrangements.

At-home and in-office whitening options give a separate color goal its own place in planning. The appropriate method and personal arrangements are decided individually; the availability of both modes does not mean every person receives both.

What the research contributes

The MARPE review published online April 21, 2021 searched through November 2020. It studied selected late-adolescent and adult populations, with very-low-certainty evidence and differences in appliances, methods and outcomes. It helps explain the width target and assessment questions; its pooled results are not a personal probability or a SMILE-FX® success rate.

The tissue and complication review published January 21, 2026 searched through July 2025. Its largely observational evidence had low to very low certainty, varied definitions and limited follow-up. It informs the discussion of supporting tissues, progress and review without supplying a reliable personal risk percentage.

The American Association of Orthodontists' surgical education explains coordinated orthodontist and oral/maxillofacial surgeon roles when a different jaw relationship is considered. No publication or update date was exposed in the retrieved article. These sources were checked October 24, 2026. Clinical publications and SMILE-FX®'s confirmed service policies have different roles; publication by an outside organization does not imply its endorsement of this guide.

Examples that finish the explanation

The four teaching examples are fictional adult situations written to explain a distinction or a care responsibility. They are not patient records, testimonials, diagnosed cases or predicted outcomes. Each finishes what the supplied information means while keeping the personal recommendation with the treating clinician.

The child-expansion guides retain their own appliance-category explanations. The jaw guide retains the different job of combined orthodontic and surgical planning. This guide adds adult MARPE assessment, supporting-tissue and progress discussion, and the connection with a continuing teeth and bite plan.
